Simply put in your username and password at the upper right hand corner of the screen and you will be able to sign up for classes, request privates and duets, check your account, etc… all from the convenience of your personal computer!

The best way to start Pilates is with private instruction to familiarize yourself with the Pilates system and equipment. Private lessons help you receive a better understanding of what Pilates is all about and how to make it work for your body.  Privates are a great way to start taking Pilates because the entire Pilates system is utilized during these workouts, another way to start taking Pilates is with our small group mat classes.  Mat classes are a great way to compliment your private lessons. You must be injury free to start with mat classes.

What do I bring/wear?
You do not need to bring anything but yourself since Absolute Pilates is a fully equipped studio. You should wear comfortable workout clothing that sits close to your body. Baggy clothing makes it difficult for your instructor to see if your are working properly. Pilates is always practiced shoeless, but socks are optional.

How often should I take Pilates?
This answer is different for everyone. Most people see the best results from taking Pilates 2 to 3 times a week.  Your instructor will help you determine the right formula (privates, duets, and/or classes) to help you reach your goals. Consistency is the key!

How long do I stay in beginner classes?
Your instructor will be able to advise you based on how you progress as an individual.  The beginner exercises should be mastered according to the principle set forth by the Pilates method. Once this is accomplished Intermediate Classes will be an option.  For some it may take up to a year or more, but for others it may only take a few months. Remember that you are learning something new,  and you want to know what you are doing before you take the next step.

Will Pilates help me lose weight?
Pilates is a system, when learned correctly, helps strengthen and tone the body with a focus on your core musculature.  Pilates will definitely help define your body and help you lose inches. Pilates can aid in your weight loss process, but you must also watch what you are eating and add a cardio workout to your exercise regimen.  For this reason we have cardio equipment available for your convenience. There is no quick fix, but with an open mind, dedication, and consistent workouts, you will see and feel the changes Pilates can bring.

Will Pilates help me if I am recovering from an injury?
If you have an injury, you must have a release from your physician. For safety reasons, you must start with private lessons to address your specific needs. Pilates can be very therapeutic but does not replace physical therapy.
